Food Laws and Trade Agreements: How International Policies Affect Our Plates

When the EU and the United States negotiated the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), the EU pushed for the U.S. to adopt some of their food safety standards. This would have led to safer food for U.S. consumers.
Ultimately, food laws and trade agreements are complicated issues that require careful consideration. While trade agreements can lead to increased access to food and lower prices, they can also compromise food safety and undermine government regulations. As consumers, it is important to stay informed about these issues and advocate for policies that prioritize our health and well-being.
